Saltasaurus is a genus of titanosaurian sauropod dinosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous period. It was a large herbivorous dinosaur that walked on four legs and was known for its small, bony plates embedded in its skin, as well as its club-shaped tail. Saltasaurus was one of the first sauropods discovered in South America and is one of the best-known dinosaurs from the region. It was a relatively small sauropod, reaching lengths of about 12 meters, and was characterized by its short neck and wide, elephant-like feet. Despite its size, Saltasaurus was a successful and adaptable species, and its remains have been found in various locations throughout Argentina.
