Partial Mammoth Tusk (Alaska)

The mammoth was a prehistoric creature that lived during the Pleistocene epoch. It was a large, elephant-like animal with long, curved tusks and a thick, shaggy coat of fur to keep it warm in the cold, icy environments where it lived. They were herbivorous and fed on grasses and other vegetation. Mammoths were well-adapted to the harsh conditions of the Ice Age, with their large size and thick fur providing insulation against the cold. Unfortunately, mammoths became extinct around 10,000 years ago, likely due to a combination of climate change and hunting by early humans. Despite their extinction, mammoths continue to fascinate scientists and the public alike, with many efforts being made to study and even potentially bring them back through genetic engineering.
