The mammoth was a large, prehistoric elephant-like creature that roamed the Earth during the Pleistocene era. They were known for their long, curved tusks and thick, shaggy fur which helped them to survive in the cold, harsh environments of the Ice Age. These massive creatures were herbivores, feeding on grasses, shrubs, and other vegetation. They were well adapted to their environment, with their large size and powerful trunks allowing them to easily forage for food and fend off predators. Unfortunately, mammoths became extinct around 4,000 years ago, likely due to a combination of climate change and human hunting. Today, their remains can still be found preserved in the frozen tundra of Siberia, providing valuable insights into the ancient world in which they lived.
